Only In My Dreams (revised)

You-

as in the proverbial "you"

everyone talks about when they day dream

of their soul-mate.

That feeling I have of-

I met you whilst dreaming.

I dream of you 

but I've never met you.

I know you because of that

lingering sense of you.

I write about you

because I want you to be real.

The-

I can see you with my own two eyes;

I can feel your heartbeat against my cheek

kind of real.

You don't exist though;

because you are the man of my dreams.

My dreams are the only place

where we can be together.
